Spirit Week Hits MHS Cafeteria -
The Child Nutrition staff at Manteo High promoted school spirit in the week leading up to homecoming October 11 through October 15. The school nutrition folks held an election for the "Lunch Lady Homecoming Queen" to add to the fun and to help students learn the names of cafeteria employees. Cards were made available to students with the names of each lunch lady ‑ votes were cast by depositing a card with the name of choice in a basket. The winner of the contest, Gail McMurran, was presented with a crown and ‑ in keeping with the cafeteria theme ‑ the queen's "scepter" was a tricked‑out food disher.
