MHS Junior To Represent NC

Twelve-year Special Olympics veteran, Manteo High School junior Caroline Parks, has been named as one of 49 athletes  to represent North Carolina at the 2010 Special Olympics USA National Games July 18-23 in Nebraska.  Caroline loves to swim; she also enjoys off-shore fishing.  She says that participating in Special Olympics has kept her active and provided the opportunity to meet many good friends.  Caroline is the proud owner of a golf cart that she loves to ride; she also enjoys traveling and talking on the phone.

The 2010 Special Olympics USA National Games will include more than 3,000 athletes from across the United States
competing in 13 sports with 1,000 coaches, 15,000 family members and friends, 8,000 volunteers and 30,000 spectators in attendance. The Special Olympics USA National Games anticipates being one of the largest sporting events in the world in 2010.

In Nebraska, Special Olympics North Carolina will be represented by 49 athletes, one Partner, 13 coaches and four SONC staff members.
