Small Change Adds Up
CHES kindergarten students Jack Barnes and Gia Deyarmin pour coins into a bucket on a wagon as they went from class to class in a school fundraiser for children in Haiti. To date, the coin collection has "added up" to more than $1000.

During the week of January 26-29, Cape Hatteras Elementary School students collected coins for the children of Haiti.  Each day, kindergarten students collected the coins from every classroom.  "Even though the collection has officially stopped, students are still making donations," reports kindergarten teacher Trish Dempsey. "We'll donate to the United Methodist Committee on Relief (UMCOR), where all proceeds go directly to those in need."
