Welcomed to District
Dare County Schools Personnel Director Trip Hobbs and staff members conducted the first of two planned orientations sessions for teachers new to the district on August 18 at Manteo Elementary School. Topics included licensure, benefits, payroll, mentor assignments, staff development opportunities, and other must‑know items for the district's newest hires. Nags Head Elementary School More at Four teacher Laura McCall won Belk's gift basket on the 18th.  Island Bookstore (Kitty Hawk, Duck, Corolla), and Tanger Outlet Center (Nags Head) contributed welcoming gifts for all Dare County Schools newest teachers.

New Teacher Orientation Sessions
At the second of two planned new teacher orientations led by Dare County Schools Personnel Director Trip Hobbs, held at First Flight High School on August 19, Manteo Middle School teacher Jessica Johnson and Cape Hatteras Secondary School of Coastal Studies teacher Tod Ray won the drawing for doorprizes donated by Kill Devil Hills Dare Centre Belk store. Welcoming gifts for all participants in the back to back orientations for new teachers (the first was held at Manteo Elementary on the 18th) were provided by Island Bookstore (Kitty Hawk, Duck, Corolla), and Tanger Outlet Center (Nags Head).
