Dare County Schools

Manteo Elementary School students in Esther Ballance's first grade class were visited by MES school nurse, Jodi Leary, on December 4. Leary was in the classroom to teach the students about proper handwashing technique and to play a game she dubbed Okay or No Way! As she held up images of items, students were asked to determine which things are okay to share and what things are a big "No Way!" The Dare County Department of Public Health partners with Dare County Schools to provide on‑site school nurses throughout the district.
